Ten-time Ginetta champions Xentek Motorsport have entered an exciting new partnership with Paradine Competition for a multi-car entry into the 2025 Ginetta GT Academy.
As the South Yorkshire team head into their second decade of Ginetta competition, they have teamed up with the successful Paradine Competition squad to run a pair of Ginetta G56 GTA’s for championship debutants Shiv Sapra and Alex Deighton this year under the “Paradine Competition by Xentek Motorsport” banner.
Led by former GT Academy graduate turned FIA World Endurance Championship race-winner Darren Leung, Paradine Competition have burst onto the GT scene in recent years with title wins in the British GT Championship and GT World Challenge Europe for Leung and BMW factory driver Dan Harper.
Sapra will be embarking on his car-racing debut this season and has enjoyed some positive first runs in a G56 GTA. Deighton meanwhile enjoyed great success in junior single-seaters and saloon cars in his early career and returns to racing this year for the first time in a decade.
Xentek Motorsport will once again be running a double programme in Ginetta racing this season, alongside their continued challenge in the GT Championship. Hadley Simpson was recently announced as their first confirmed driver for the series, with more news to come soon.
Christopher Richards – Xentek Motorsport Team Principal: “We’re delighted to be linking up with Simon, Darren and the team at Paradine Competition for the 2025 Ginetta GT Academy. We’re proud that with our rich history in Ginetta racing, they felt we were the best team to partner with and run their drivers in 2025.
“While both Shiv and Alex are new to the championship and the G56 GTA, we’re confident we can provide them with the resources and coaching needed to get right on the competitive pace from the off. We’re looking forward to going racing with them both this season.”
Darren Leung – Paradine Competition Team Owner: “It’s great to be involved with Ginetta again, the place where my journey began in 2021. Wanting to help friends ignite and reignite their passion for motorsport, I believe the Ginetta GT Academy is the perfect platform for that.
“Paradine Competition has enjoyed great success in recent years, but as a small team, we saw an opportunity to strengthen our efforts by partnering with an accomplished and highly-respected Ginetta team like Xentek Motorsport. This collaboration gives Shiv and Alex the best possible chance to achieve success this season.”
Simon Traves – Paradine Competition Team Manager: “With our busy GT programme spanning Europe, partnering with Chris, Sarah, and the entire Xentek Motorsport team was the ideal move. Having built a strong working relationship over the years and recognising their impressive track record in Ginetta, this partnership felt like the perfect fit. I'm excited to collaborate with Xentek and make this season a successful one for everyone involved."
The Ginetta GT Academy is a unique and exciting championship that serves as the ideal entry-point to GT racing for drivers of all ages and experience levels. Drivers develop their skills within a fun, safe and competitive environment, gaining the experience needed to progress up to the Ginetta GT Championship.
The GT Academy will once again race exclusively alongside the British GT Championship in 2025. A six-event calendar features the best circuits in the UK including Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park, with every race set to be streamed live for free on Ginetta’s YouTube channel.
