Xentek Motorsport have signed up exciting young talent Alex Duncan to join their driver line-up for the opening round of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship this weekend at Donington Park (05-06 April).

Duncan has linked up with the South Yorkshire team to make his car-racing debut. The 18-year-old rising star makes the step up with five years of karting experience under his belt, including scoring front-running results in the British Karting Championship and Ultimate Karting Championship.

The Scotland-based driver will line-up in the competitive PRO-AM category of the GT Championship behind the wheel of a Ginetta G56 GTP8. He’s been getting up to speed in his new car during official pre-event testing, setting an impressive pace from the off as he clocked up over 40 laps yesterday (03 April), with testing continuing today.

Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Xentek Motorsport Team Manager: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Alex to the team for his Ginetta GT Championship debut. He’s really impressed us with how quickly he adapted to the new G56 GTP8 in testing and he’s shown some real promise in the car. He faces a big challenge up against many experienced Ginetta racers, but we’re sure he can start with a strong performance at Donington Park.”

Alex Duncan: “I’m looking forward to making my car-racing debut this weekend at Donington Park. This is an exciting opportunity for me to compete in the Ginetta GT Championship and it’s great to be working with the Xentek Motorsport team.”

The Ginetta GT Championship is the pinnacle of Ginetta’s racing ladder. The ultra-competitive championship gives aspiring professional drivers the experience of close, exhilarating one-make GT racing and serves as an ideal stepping stone into domestic and global GT competition.

Featuring alongside the British GT Championship at the best circuits in the UK, the 2025 championship will be contested over a range of sprint and mini-endurance races across six events. Every race is set to be streamed live for free on Ginetta’s YouTube channel.
