Ten-time Ginetta champions Xentek Motorsport will continue their long-standing relationship with Phil McGarty this season as the experienced racer bolsters their driver line-up for the 2025 Ginetta GT Academy.
McGarty will be entering his 11th consecutive season of one-make Ginetta racing this year and has enjoyed some great moments with Xentek Motorsport during that time, with spells together in both the GT5 Challenge and GT Academy.
The Greater Manchester-based driver secured Am class victories in the GT5 Challenge and has since enjoyed a number of overall top ten finishes in the GT Academy. He will now be embarking on his third consecutive season in the ultra-competitive championship.
Xentek Motorsport are all set for a three-car entry into the GT Academy for the Donington Park season opener (05-06 April). McGarty joins Shiv Sapra and Alex Deighton, who team up with Xentek as part of an exciting partnership with Paradine Competition.
Sarah-Jayne McKenna – Xentek Motorsport Team Manager: “We’ve always enjoyed going racing with Phil [McGarty] and we’re really pleased that he’ll be joining us again in 2025. He’s shown great speed in the GT Academy in the last couple of years and hopefully there will be more positive results together this season.”
Phil McGarty: “I’ve always enjoyed my time racing with Ginetta and the GT Academy has been a great championship for me to develop my skills. The team at Xentek Motorsport have been fantastic to me over the years and I’m looking forward to going racing with them again.”

The GT Academy will once again race exclusively alongside the British GT Championship in 2025. A six-event calendar features the best circuits in the UK including Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park, with every race set to be streamed live for free on Ginetta’s YouTube channel.
